Our friends at Rural Progress are launching a national effort to build a 25-year vision for progress in small towns and rural communities—and it all starts at 2050 Fest this Saturday, August 9, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
If you’re in or near Lancaster, you can still get tickets.
2050 Fest brings together rural young creatives, organizers, and allies to imagine bold, grounded futures for our communities. The event features:
- 🎤 Live performances by Raury, Apes of the State, The Takes, My Familiar, and Nathan Evans Fox
- 🛠️ Workshops and panels with rural leaders
- 🍦 Food trucks including Tony Roll Ups, Greco’s Ice Cream, and Wander Bowl
- 🎮 Plus Mario Kart, contests, and cornhole

But if you can’t make it to Lancaster, you can still be part of Rural 2050.
Over the coming months, we’ll be visiting rural communities across the country and speaking with hundreds of local leaders who are driving change from the ground up.

For 15 years, Donald Trump has defined rural politics even as his policies have wreaked havoc on our communities. But he’ll never lawfully be on the ballot again. He’s a lame duck—and it’s time we all start thinking about what comes next.
We believe small-town and rural folks like you—not billionaires, not pundits—should answer that question.
Over the next year, we’ll be working with our network to shape a real, long-term plan that reflects rural life: real frustration, real neglect, and a real desire for something better.
By the end of next year, we’re aiming for a concrete strategy to win in a post-Trump rural America. And that strategy starts with you.
